Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The 25th conference in the 40th year of the Association of South-East Asian Studies in the United Kingdom (ASEASUK), presented by the South-East Asian Network Swansea and the School of the Environment & Society, will be held in Swansea University, from 11th-13th September 2009.

Accommodation will be available from Friday 11th September and the conference will begin with a reception on Friday evening, and will close after a late lunch on Sunday 13th September.

Swansea University and the South-East Asian Network Swansea look forward to welcoming you to the first ever ASEASUK conference to be held in Wales. The campus adjoins Swansea Bay, and the swimmers among you will be able to enjoy the sea at its warmest.

Bursaries

After papers have been selected, panel convenors will contact PhD students to establish what kind of funding each person needs, and partial funds will be allocated as appropriate. Some funding will also be available for scholars from Southeast Asia, who will also hear from their panel convenor.
